Dimitris Tsichlakis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he still lives. He studied History at the Department of History and Archeology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has worked as a Greek Language teacher for vulnerable and socially excluded groups, and as a copy editor for newspapers and for the broader publishing sector. He is a journalist, member of Journalists’ Union of Macedonia and Thrace.

He became interested in photography 15 years ago and studied it under Stratos Kalafatis.
